Brief Description:

  • I was working as an architectural assistant engaged on housing before working at South Glamorgan Intervol
  • I assisted in the establishment of a standing committee later known as South Glamorgan Homelessness Forum.
  • This followed a conference to which all concerned with homelessness were invited, including MP’s, Councillors, Social Workers and representatives of voluntary organisation.
  • Subsequently the forum acquired the ‘Cabins’ as a temporary shelter for those sleeping rough.
  • I left Intervol and the Homeless Forum to set up Mid Glamorgan Council for Voluntary Action (MGAVO), but retained my interest with C.A.S.H.
  • I worked for many years on the Management Committee of South Riverside Community Development Centre, and was both secretary and chairperson at different times. I recently resigned due to ill health.
  • I retired from teaching in 2003
  • I have been a member of the United Nations Association for 40 years and was employed for 6 months posting with the UN information office – 1984.
  • Concerned with global issues of homelessness and poverty.
